I love this album, I love his songs.
Another strong effort from Kurt Vile containing some of his best songs to date. However, I agree with the sentiment that it does overstay its welcome and could benefit from chopping off a few tracks. I'd rank it as his 4th best album following Wakin on a pretty daze, Smoke ring for my halo, and b'lieve i'm goin down.
Best tracks: Loading Zones, Bassackwards, One Trick Ponies, Come Again

20 minutes shorter and this would indeed be a good album because it's nearly impossible to listen to it in one session, especially the different tracks show a lot of variation either.
But I still like the guy and his music.

It makes for a pretty pleasant listen if you have time on your hands. Even so, some of the tracks do drag on and would have been better being a tad more concise.

Ok let's address the Elephant in the room .. and of course I'm referring to Track 6 "Rollin With The Flow" . Holy cow it's an awful cover of an equally awful track and who ever ticked it off for inclusion on this album should slap themselves in the face . Hand's down contender for worst 2018 track
But its not all bad news with excellent opener "Loading Zones" providing an encouraging start , plus the bluesy "Check Baby" , and the banjo tune "Come Again" all worth checking out
But ultimately this album is too long , way too long clocking in at a hefty 78 minutes . Tracks such as "Bassackwards" at 9+ minutes , tittle track "Bottle It In" at 10+ minutes and "Skinny Mini" 10+ minutes meander along unfocused and scrappy in the most part and offer little for the listener who sticks it out
This album requires more patience than I'm willing to give after 3 full listens

Some great tunes in here, but as an album it gets pretty boring. Title track and Check Baby are the problem in my opinion. 7/10.
