As quatro estações é o primeiro álbum em que o Renato após a aids, e podemos começar a ver as consequências disso nas letras e no estilo em si da banda que já havia mudado bastante desde seu disco de estréia. Importante também ressaltar a importância da declaração que Renato fez em "Meninos e Meninas" sobre sua orientação sexual, algo que era muito corajoso pra época.
