Before I ever heard Saxon, I was lured by this album cover as a teenager, but album purchases didn’t come too frequently. The clever use of crossed axe heads for a letter S and the rather cartoonist warrior made for a great sleeve my young spotty self thought. It would be thirty plus years before I laid the needle onto the spatter vinyl re-issue. And I do enjoy it, great debut for a classic NWOBHM band!
