As a life long Australian Oil's fan my initial reaction to another MO Live release was one of cynicism and asking myself WHY ?
However I need not have worried , as they had me at the opening bars of "Armistice Day" and I'm pleased to report this album is really good and well worth the price of admission
It has fantastic re-imagined versions of Oils classics such as "Read About It" (with Garrett proclaiming " Page one of the Herald oh well there's not much doubt about that .." ) , "Beds Are Burning" with an acoustic intro , "US Forces" , "Blue Sky Mining" , "Power and The Passion" , "Don't Wanna Be The One" and a 6 minute power version of "Short Memory" (though IMHO nothing will beat the 'Oils On The Water ' version)
Along with these classics there are many tracks with rare live appearances such "Hercules" , "Section Five" , "The Dead Heart" and "No Time For Games" as well as some real left field treats namely "Treaty" , B-Side "Ships of Freedom" and "Sometimes"
The Oils deliver again
Completely awesome
