Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 68.5/100, a mean average of 67.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.1.

Probablemente solo baje.
Cymbaline is the obvious standout here
I love this album. Always have. I can't imagine finding anything that sounds like this. So good.
This soundtrack album presages much of what Pink Floyd would go on to do, whilst having a foot firmly in their past. The tracks are fully formed for the most part, although a few sound like fragments from Saucerful outtakes. Some heavy rockers supplement the often gentler approach the band take here, and these moments are welcome. Definitely a strong effort, although stuck in between stronger work later (except Ummagumma) and a brilliant album prior.
Cymbaline is one of the most gorgeous songs PF has ever recorded. Green Is The Color, Cirrus Minor and Nile Song are the other strong tracks but rest of the album is mainly just moody period space/psychedelic music made to go in to the background of a now long forgotten film.
There is no way that 'The Final Cut' should sit above this album, or 'Pulse' for that matter as the latter is a compilation! This album doesn't get the credit it deserves, it is a very psychedelic offering and dishes up some real classics, 'The Nile Song' and 'Ibiza Bar' being two of them, not to mention the heaviest 'metal' track Floyd ever produced in 'Cirrus Minor'. 'Quicksilver' is the closest they came to early 'Tangerine Dream', a great mind expanding track!
A film soundtrack which is worth owning for a few tracks, Green Is The Colour and Cymbaline in particular, but The Nile Song and Cirrus Minor are also quite good.
Pink Floyd's soundtrack album to the film of the same name is probably the band's most hippie moment. Being a soundtrack album the listening experience is uneven to say the least, but there are some great tracks here. Cirrus minor, is arguably the best song here, but the heavy rock of, the Nile song, and the pastoral, green is the colour, are also standouts. Elsewhere, there is a lot of instrumentals and ambient moments. Not essential Pink Floyd then, but a nice record in the right mood.
Cymbaline is probably one of the best early-Floyd's song
Best Track: Cymbaline
