Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 67.0/100, a mean average of 66.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 66.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.3.

Mostly just a collection of instrumental outtakes from 20 years ago. A couple solid moments here and there but overall nonessential!

I love listening to this type of instrumental music, typical Floyd nothing new and some it rehashed or heard before. It's gorgeously ambient, nothing taxing just nice and soothing like drifting down a lazy river.

An okay offering, but a stain on the discography of Pink Floyd

For me, Pink Floyd has always been about the music over the lyrics. That's not to undermine Waters' importance, as the Endless River is clearly far from their best. However I adore the ambient, relaxed nature of this record and it is a fitting tribute to Richard Wright.

I am updating my April entry as I have recently bought the vinyl and have now taken the time to listen to this as a whole, properly. I don't think I had really appreciated how many tracks Rick Wright had played on through this album and how many differing styles he covered. I appreciate that it was released after his death and I suppose it is a kind of tribute to his abilities. There are some beautiful keyboard textures on this album and generally the sound and production of the whole album is superb. My prediction is that this will climb to a similar status of earlier albums over the ensuing years.
