Sono le leggere imperfezioni ( il bottleneck che batte sulla tastiera della chitarra, per dire… ) che mi fanno preferire "Into the purple valley" ad altri dischi successivi di Cooder perché lo rendono più vero, più vicino alla musica che vi è contenuta. "F.D.R. in Trinidad" e "Teardrops will fall" sono tra i miei brani preferiti di sempre e di chiunque.
