May20. I am not sure how these guys came to my attention, but the title track from this album has been getting a flogging by me. It is a brilliant song and awesome way to open an album. What an anthemic chorus. 'Holiday' is a cool mix of different vocal styles over a decent back-beat. 'Same Old Story' is a melodic rocker with something to say. 'Overdosed' opens with that cool guitar sound they have on their great song 'You've Got a Problem Without Knowing It'. This song really grew on me.
Oh wow, 'Hurray' quotes Jimi Hendrix and channels a lot of ACDC in its delivery. 'You Get What You Get' brings some upbeat swagger and boogie to the album. 'Hit the Floor' is also some good, old-time rock'n'roll. 'No Afterglow' opens with a riff that reminds me of an Offspring song. (The Kids Aren't Alright?). 'War' is quite effective in its simplicity; so is 'Again' with its almost spoken word delivery. In all, a very good album. 3.5.5
