The seventh album from Texas singer-songwriter Joe Ely is an LP I could dig all night. It's the other side of the same coin as Lord of the Highway, Ely's other record on Hightone Records from the previous year. It's probably his most hard rock record and it's all Ely originals.

There are some great small-town rock songs here. It's disappointing that Ely did not have more success in an era when the radio was blasting Mellencamp and Springsteen. The title track literally sounds like a love letter to Mellencamp's Small Town. Settle for Love is another uplifting track that Ely would record with producer Tony Brown when he was signed with MCA again following this record.

Highly Recommended.
