A meritorious solo debut, but he got better
Probably the finest outlaw country album ever made...or is it just plain roadhouse rock. It literally sounds like music you'd hear in a truck stop dancehall in a movie.
Joe Ely's debut album is an energetic affair, but it's a clever one too. There are unforgettable songs here, especially the tracks penned by Butch Hancock.
Essential.
