I much prefer my Morrissey songs to be Morrissey songs, having said that, the vocals on this album are some of the best of his career.
Morrissey's influences laid bare and carried off with the usual style. Good record.

@Johnner. How is Morrissey a "problematic" artist? I don't see a problem with his artistry. You either like it or you don't.
Or are you talking about his political views? That's only a problem - to you - if you disagree and make it your problem.

Yes, Morrissey is a problematic artist but what saves him is that sometimes he comes up with the goods and this album of cover versions more than delivers. Each song is effortlessly transplanted to World Of Morrissey replete with the now, standard rock backing, cheesy synths and Morrissey’s distinctive yodelling. Someone should tell the milkshake-throwing lefties that freedom of speech and democracy is meant to extend to everyone.
