Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. After 2015's Dark Bird Is Home, I was getting concerned that Kristian Matsson would continue to grow his music through larger orchestrations and pop melodies, which I felt drowned out the sincerity and richness of his songwriting that exists in his solo guitar work. And I was wonderfully surprised by I Love You. It's a Fever Dream. It's his most mature work to date, and often feels very meditative on life. The style is a mixture between his solo guitar and full band material, and everything works extremely well together
It's not earth-shattering. It's just a good album of decent songs.
