This is all pretty confusing, but apparently this group was based in the UK, possibly Glasgow in Scotland, with members from all over the British Isles. They were a fairly conventional alt-rock/emo-type band similar to Muse, Maroon 5 and 30 Seconds to Mars, but their big problem was presumably the fact that Joy Division had called themselves "Stiff Kittens" when they were first doing gigs in the Manchester area, and the name was being used on some Joy Division bootlegs to avoid copyright lawsuits. (Other bands were also using the name.) This album is actually a reissue of an earlier one (release date unknown) called "Won't Reach The Fifth," retitled "Kurt Cobain" in order to highlight the song "Kurt Cobain," and to produce even more lawsuits, this time from the Cobain estate. There's precious little information about this band out there and they've been largely forgotten (though they are on Discogs as "Stiff Kittens (6)," and you can buy and stream this album on several of the usual-suspect websites), but they're not as bad as you might think. I mean, yeah, they're bad, just not THAT bad.
