Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 81.6/100, a mean average of 80.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.5.

Music
Alright
One of the more unique albums that stands out from other releases due to its interesting experimentation and fusion of brit pop and hip hop. To my surprise this combination works together very well and it truly comes to fruition on tracks such as Kids With Guns, DARE and Dirty Harry. The high point of this album though is Feel Good Inc. which is so catchy and is timeless as it sounds so fresh to this day. The beats are consistent the whole way through as well and provide a great backdrop to be built on allowing the artists to flourish. However, this is a front heavy release with most of the great songs coming at the start and the weaker ones nearer the end. I do think there are quite a few filler tracks on here such as the closing couple of songs. It seems t lose its edge in spells and the music isn't as contagious. Overall, this isn't their best album but there is a lot to love on this record with some very unique soundscapes that are created.
The first CD I ever purchased and it has remained a firm favourite ever since. So fun and displays great qualities of hip-hop and brit-pop together to make an instant classic of hits that show real creative depth. Damon Albarn's greatest project piece.
Quite original...
Interesting sound, definitely ages better than the rap-metal combos of the past.
Just great. Such a consistent album, with a unique sound. My highlights are Feel Good Inc, Dirty Harry, El Manana. Very few filler tracks here, it's a very easy album to listen to, but I'd say White Light is the one track I could do without.
No me dice nada.
Often times being musically engaging and just pure fun are not exclusive. For further example just listen to this.
Grande marco da década!
