Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.9/100, a mean average of 71.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.5.

Huge nostalgia factor for me here. This is the early 2010's indie scene in a nutshell. I seriously cannot think of an album that epitomizes it more. The echo-y sound, the strange instrumentation (has any band used a glockenspiel this much before or since?) and the clearly fake drum sounds because neither of the two members of the duo play drums. Good, but nothing special in retrospect.

one of the first huge 'internet hype' successes. Starting with a two song EP and not much else information, other than a refreshing echoey indie-pop sound, one of the biggest new bands of the 2010s

For some reason this Album seems so perfect to listen to at this time of year. Everything sounds Christmassy and festive

At times reminding me of a lighter pretty girls make graves, I like the lead singer's voice, how the simple, catchy songs rush forward effortlessly, as all the best 60s/70s r&b girl groups did...and i like that xylophone (or xylo-sounding synth). Fun stuff.

I don't think there's too much to get here. This is perfect pool party music. It's something that a whole group of people can enjoy without one of them complaining about the music. It's pretty chill for the most part, the girl voice is not only not annoying but is actually above average. The music reminds me a lot of The Beach Boys or the times that Panda Bear pretends that he's in the Beach Boys. Go Outside is a bonefide hit direct from the Hit Song Emporium. There's nothing wild or unique about it, but this album is above average all the way round. You should probably pick it up if you enjoy music.
