Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.9/100, a mean average of 78.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.7.

This is pretty dope. Been meaning to listen to RTJ for a long time, and I'm glad I did. Will definitely be checking out their other stuff, because this was a really fun record.

It's got that spiritual lyrical feel to it, and equally pretentious beats that do trip, but not enough to break a bone, or convince me I'm not listening to boom bap. Aggression that sounds like purrs next to M.I.A.'s mass murders.

It takes much that a hip hop album nowadays catches my attention and more than just 1-2 songs on an album are outstanding. I listened to hip hop in the 90s and 00s, but in the last 10 years there were barely nothing that was clever, nice to hear and innovative at the same time. But RTJ4 is a different kind of hip hop album. Every song has a special atmosphere, great rap skills, cool melodies. RTJ4 plays on a totally different level than anything else I know in the field of hip hop. I totally understand the hype, and it is justifiably the top hip hop album 2020.

Love the momentum. Walking in the Snow is really topical for 2020. All of the songs are so immediate and catchy, loved it front to back. Great addition to already great discography.

Favorite songs: Walking in the Snow, Ooh La La, JU$T

Have really struggled to get into this one, but can definitely see why many appreciate it. The production qualities are great and whilst the flow is often interesting, there's something about the style of rapping in general that puts me off, I just can't figure out what it is. Killer Mike is clearly by no means a bad rapper, perhaps I just feel his 'exaggerated' rapping style with these beats/production doesn't work?

Who knows, it's a tricky one. The themes are handled well and it's just a shame I can't appreciate a project that has clearly made many people's best of 2020 album lists.

Some sick flows and some great beats. An impressive project but nothing that blew me away. I'm a proponent of most of the subject matter on the album but the preaching doesn't sit perfectly with me. I don't think everything needs to be virtuous for it to be important and I don't think everything necessarily needs to be important.

RTJ just keep getting more impactful with every album. This one hits hard - both with production and with lyrics. These guys will not be forgotten.

Banger after banger after banger, this album is basically just one long banger. It never stops! One of the most important albums of 2020.

Just when you think RTJ can't go any harder, they up the ante even further. While arguably their weakest since their first album, the anger and intelligence of this record is undeniable. Not to mention that closer is practically an "A Day in the Life" leap in quality from an album of exceptional tracks to one transcendent statement that is somehow the most raw track on a record not unacquainted with blunt ideas and songwriting.

RTJ4 has such dynamic production. Each song has a unique and recognizable style sort of like a digitally altered jukebox. My personal favorites being "Yankee And The Brave (Episode 4)" and "Out Of Site (Feat. 2 Chainz)". I do think the lyricism holds its own but I find it less memorable at times. Perhaps its because it doesn't share the chameleon nature of its beats.
