Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.8/100, a mean average of 75.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.0.

@Spinningdisks83 phenomenal comment and introspection. Glad you gave it another listen. This record is the Radiohead of modern pop in that you can give it 30+ listens and still find new things about it.

With BRAT getting so much well deserved attention I hope more people stumble upon this absolutely fantastic record. With the exception of I finally understand, which is not bad just okay, it's basically a masterpiece.

First listen I thought this isn't for me at all I'm 40 year old , came home from work next day grabbed some beers and stuck it on headphones loud and the score went from a 5 to an 8 , some absolute bangers on this , proof not to give up on any album after a single listen

This is one of the greatest records in recent memory. If you are seriously complaining about the 1 or 2 note melodies, the entire appeal of this record just went right over your head.

It's okay to dislike the synth vox, I can't get into the Smiths because of Morrissey, but what got delivered with this record is simply the best Hyperpop record ever produced. (if you disagree with this take, the only other acceptable competitors are also charli albums or perhaps sophie) AG Cook and Charli at the peak of their powers with a deadline during one of the strangest times of many of our lives delivered what I think will be thought of as a defining record. Everything she tried to do with Pop 2 and Charli is fully actualized on this project.

I could go into a big dissertation about all the merits of this record, but simply put, this isn't a record where any amount of me defending it on this site is going to amount to a hill of beans. This isn't the type of record where a detailed deconstruction of the arrangement and the songwriting is going to add to the experience. But it's a type of record to give attention to again and again, if you get it you get it. And if you get it, you know what I'm talking about.

If you don't get it it, go back and listen to Pink Floyd and Radiohead.

How have I forgotten to add this to my 2020 list. Her spot in the top ten is deserved with this strange yet satisfying album.

The vibe is very Sky Ferreira dark and edgy. Most emotional electronic music I've heard since 808s & Heartbreak; best electroclash I've heard since Goldfrapp's Black Cherry (I don't dare to call M.I.A. electroclash or anything really, but I hear a clear influence of her too, be it indirectly).

I should add that this album is rather a culmination of where alternative female pop has been heading since the start of the '10s, than an entirely new thing (same for 100gecs), since the hipsters of BEA may not know this.

2020 was a year I barely listened to new music, so it was nice having the chance to check some of the stuff I've missed. Thematically this was as 2020 as it gets. Can't say I liked it, but it was an interesting listen for sure. Credit is mostly due to the production, it is based on a heavy electronic background and is willing to try various things. Most of them were far from my taste and I can't say I found them catchy, but that's irrelevant, at least they tried-unlike most modern pop albums. No complaints about the vocals either, they did fit the overall sound. Forever is clearly the highlight of the album, no doubt about it, though Visions was an excellent closer. So, a cool and refreshing album, I wish I liked it more.

"How I'm Feeling Now" takes rave energy and emotional vulnerability and turns into fantastic consistency. The production is fantastic with effects and beats coming in and out, always adding to the song. The songwriting feels vulnerable with Charli talking about pent up desires and frustrations. The only track that doesn't work is "Party 4 U". It doesn't take off like the rest of the album does.

A massive improvement from her last album in my opinion. She took the electronic sound that she dabbled with, nearly perfected it and made a whole album of it. Relentlessly inventive and without any filler. Every song is packed with so much life that I find it hard not to dance and cry at the same time. A pop masterpiece.
