Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.5/100, a mean average of 75.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

How have I forgotten to add this to my 2020 list. Her spot in the top ten is deserved with this strange yet satisfying album.
The vibe is very Sky Ferreira dark and edgy. Most emotional electronic music I've heard since 808s & Heartbreak; best electroclash I've heard since Goldfrapp's Black Cherry (I don't dare to call M.I.A. electroclash or anything really, but I hear a clear influence of her too, be it indirectly).
I should add that this album is rather a culmination of where alternative female pop has been heading since the start of the '10s, than an entirely new thing (same for 100gecs), since the hipsters of BEA may not know this.
2020 was a year I barely listened to new music, so it was nice having the chance to check some of the stuff I've missed. Thematically this was as 2020 as it gets. Can't say I liked it, but it was an interesting listen for sure. Credit is mostly due to the production, it is based on a heavy electronic background and is willing to try various things. Most of them were far from my taste and I can't say I found them catchy, but that's irrelevant, at least they tried-unlike most modern pop albums. No complaints about the vocals either, they did fit the overall sound. Forever is clearly the highlight of the album, no doubt about it, though Visions was an excellent closer. So, a cool and refreshing album, I wish I liked it more.
"How I'm Feeling Now" takes rave energy and emotional vulnerability and turns into fantastic consistency. The production is fantastic with effects and beats coming in and out, always adding to the song. The songwriting feels vulnerable with Charli talking about pent up desires and frustrations. The only track that doesn't work is "Party 4 U". It doesn't take off like the rest of the album does.
A massive improvement from her last album in my opinion. She took the electronic sound that she dabbled with, nearly perfected it and made a whole album of it. Relentlessly inventive and without any filler. Every song is packed with so much life that I find it hard not to dance and cry at the same time. A pop masterpiece.
This albums starts really strongly for me, but I had a headache by the end - might've taken me by surprise. I'll have to listen again and adjust my rating if needed.
Favorite Songs: Forever, Claws, Enemy
An often cheeky, often sincere, always revved up victory lap of her previous album (and magnum opus), How I'm Feeling Now is just a reminder that Charli XCX is our modern queen of pop.
This is state of the art pop music. It is fresh, it beeps and squeaks a lot. That is electronic Pop, experimental, and a bit cold to get warm with it in my opinion. Highlight: Forever
Best: Forever, Enemy, Vision, Claws
Worst: I Finally Understand
Maybe Charli XCX just isn't my type of artist. I wanted so badly to like HIFN and Charli, but it's just not my thing. :(
Waaaaaaay better than the new Dua Lipa IMHO. I think she uses more vocal effects than necessary and some of the lines I'm either burned out on or don't like the monotony of: lots of 1-2 note melodies and repetition of words again and again that is a bit tiring to my ears. I think "i finally understand" is a pretty big dud and the first half of c2.0 is incredibly cringy even if it's fun to listen to at times. But overall there's a lot more to like than dislike here and I think it's honestly probably her best album. Almost every song snaps and a lot of attention was put into how everything fit into the song rhythmically. The final track on the album is incredibly well produced and I'm about it. And the first half of the album the production is off the chain for the most part. If you don't like the arpegiators and associated synths man I don't know what to tell you it doesn't get much better than that. Maybe slightly over-compressed at times but still fills every space in the frequency spectrum. Anyone else get a owl city vibe from this?
Fun Trivia: I super associate this w/ thew new Rina Sawayama record even though they're very different I discovered Sawayama 2 days before this was released, turns out Charli was bumping Rina Sawayama's new record on the regular when she was in quarantine - this album was produced entirely while on quarantine. Check out her youtube she's a fun personality and seems like a nice person.
