"We Are Sent Here By History" provides an interesting narrative. It tells a lose narrative of overcoming an oppressive force and enabling emotional relief. It tells this effectively though its swirling horns, stomping drums and occasional vocal interjection. I would never say i was fully enthralled by it but I was definitely interested.
A very hard listen. I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would
One of my favorite jazz albums I've heard in the past few years. Every track is great, especially They Who Must Die, We Will Work (On Redefining Manhood), and 'Til The Freedom Comes Home. This is the perfect kind of album to listen to on a long drive.
