Not every song is a hit and the record is relatively front-loaded, but maybe none of that really matters. As an American, it's quite a damn thing to hear songs full of melancholy hope for the future at the tail end of 2025. Armed with merely an acoustic guitar, Cinnamon exploding into mega-popularity in his native Scotland was probably not what anyone would have expected, but it's perhaps what that country needed post-Brexit. Maybe the world over needs a little bit of this folk-pilled hope and stoicism-possibly-mistaken-for-optimism, too.
I love his Scottish accent.
