Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.2/100, a mean average of 78.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 7.4.

Picked up this album for the simple reason the cover looked cool. Its actually quite a cool album, very like Phoenix as many people have pointed out. "Wait & See" is a great song to put on with a group of friends cause no one's heard it before and its instantly likeable.

I feel like this is an album that will pick up steam over the next couple of years. Like paladisiac said, it's very comparable to OS-era MGMT and Phoenix. There's not a whole lot of variance in the songs, but they all have their own little moments and most of it is pretty catchy. I like Say My Name and Jam for Jerry the most probably. I'd really like to see them stretch their legs in the next album with some slower, space-ier stuff though.

On the same label as lcd soundsystem, they're more like the light, Italian disco version, crossed with some of mgmt or pheonix's flair. i guess "hold on" was released a few years ago as a single, and holy ghost! was wise to pop that on their debut because it's the standout track, although the one with michael mcdonald is curiously catchy (even though i can't understand some of the words).
