Jul20. Well, opener 'In it Together' has been sitting at #1 on my 2020 H100 since I heard it. A brilliant ode to good, ol' rock 'n' roll. A unifying theme with the energy and enthusiasm for this genre that is sorely needed. They even get away with the 'tra la la' part simply because this is a brilliant song. This should be first played at all house parties.
They don't let up with 'Bangin' in Your Stereo' - another shout out to old school rock. A mid-paced, but infectious track. Title track, 'House of Noise' just continues the party and again brings some nostalgia. Things slow down a little from here but on repeated listens I found a lot of parts I liked, such as the line, 'My head's a disco full of people that I don't like,' from 'Freak City'.
'Hero' starts all down and dirty like an early ACDC track. 'Professional Creep' ups the pace and sounds a little Guns 'n' Roses-like and is full of some brilliant lines, like 'You can't vaccinate against being an asshole!' 'The Curry Song' is a fun ode to everything yummy. 'Glorious' soars through the chorus with a nice backing beat. 'Parts' reminded me a little of Queen even. 'Sad, Sad Song' has the same feels, with a chorus you can't help but sing along to.
'Hallescrewya' is a bit of fun poked at people that leave shows early. The album finishes with a change of pace; the slow and long 'Matter of Time'. It's okay, but I liked the fun of earlier tracks more. In all, I am glad I gave the middle and later tracks more listens. This only got better. 4.5/5
