"Kanawa" is beautiful but a bit repetitive. Nahawa's vocals are gentle and passionate. She seems fully invested in every line she sings. The guitar working is nimble but never moves past the initial pattern. More varied instrumentation or song pacing would greatly help with this issue. The lyricism seems to be meaningful but unfortunately I have not been able to find a translation.
Gentle and soothing. If I understood the lyrics, it may have been a different experience, as I understand she is quite political. The voice is beautiful though and the instrumentation is excellent.
Unfortunately, I never managed to connect with this despite giving it multiple chances, all the overwhelming passion that comes out of it didn't touch me at all.
