Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 67.2/100, a mean average of 63.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.5.

This is a favourite mid eighties synth pop/rock album of mine. Several of the tracks sit in my summer music mix and in my gym workout playlists. 'Died in Your Arms' is a personal favourite. There are no tracks which I don't like, in fact I want to get this on vinyl if I can get hold of a mint copy.

And so on 7/3/19 I happily laid the near mint recently purchased vinyl onto the platter. Definitely worth waiting for, the vinyl is much richer and provides an even better listening experience than the CD and tape versions I have. Enough for me up the rating to 85!

This is a paranoid pop/rock album. You'd know it by hits "(i just) died in your arms" and "i've been in love before", or maybe by lesser-charting songs like "it shouldn't take too long" or "one for the mockingbird". They kind of remind me of the poppy side of GTR or Mr. Mister.
