Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.3/100, a mean average of 73.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.0.

An album that it is as gorgeous as it is misanthropic. Could be a full-on masterpiece if a track or two amped up the intensity a little, but as it is, Ignorance is a stellar record.

The songs don't hook me as much as they should, but the excellent instrumentation does keep me invested.

One of the more pleasant surprises of the year so far. This is the kind of pop music that is to be expected in 2021, melodic, catchy, yet challenging and intriguing.

So tepid. It just does nothing for me. The vocals are thin, the instrumentation never seems to get out of 1st gear. Not for me I'm afraid

I fell for this album instantly, "Robber" is a excellent opener. I haven't heard anything else by this band, but so far I'm quite impressed with this release, it's consistently great and the production is blissful.

(Pristine sophisti-pop album with incredibly dynamic production, slick and sexy saxophone, and that sweet and unassuming vocal work from Tamara Lindeman.)

This is just a fabulously executed and gorgeous album. Every drum beat and horn and line and detail is so pristinely recorded and intentional and exact. It shines as a nocturnal, sexy, dramatic sophisti-pop and Art Pop album. The songs are consistently just these thought out, precise and complete works. And, while I haven't yet delved into the lyrics, the bits I hear are beautifully written.

The voals are good, if not at all the focus here. They are simple and effective and they work well with the detailed sax and drum and other aspects.

I don't have much else to say. This is just really solid.
