In late 80’s Melbourne Australia TISM were at the peak of their powers and their rare concert performances were the stuff of legend. I was lucky enough to be young, free and drug effected to see these concerts many many times and I no doubt would have been at the concert this album captures

A TISM concert around this time usually went something like this - a packed crowd sheathing with heat and intensity waiting patiently for the bands arrival onstage which was usually well after midnight, TISM always dressed differently for each performance and the “Big Reveal” of their costumes was part of the anticipation, each song was pre-announced with a Dylan-esque cue card shown to the audience, typically the nights performance would begin with a spoken work piece from Ron Hitler Barrassi before ripping into a high energy number such as “Gas! Gas! Gas!” or the like

Many of the songs today sound puerile but TISM were always a significantly better live band than their recording output
