Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.6/100, a mean average of 70.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.8.

Some interesting sounds and I like that the artist eschews traditional song structures on a lot of the songs but the choice doesn't really give way to any standout tracks, in my opinion. Very crisp production but I find the vocals, especially the exaggerated tremolo, to be kind of goofy.
(Lovely Alt R&B album that feels so warm and content I can't help but feel that same energy seep into me through my headphones. Not a perfect album, but a beautiful and damn fine one.)
There is a softness, a lovely warmth that many of these songs exude that is special. Lyrically this is more stripped back and less deep than soil, but this album has an inviting dignity and elegance that is new to my ears.
The production is airy, dreamy and laced with reverb and peaceful tones. The vocals are consistently beautiful. Although I'm not always a fan of the effects added to them, those effects usually work or are not major enough to distract from the basic personality of the artist.
There is an art pop feel throughout the album and a tendency to go off to unexpected places. Maybe a silly comparison, but I hear some of the more dreamy and somewhat indescribable artistry of Blonde by Frank Ocean on some of these tracks.
The whole album is solid. Very solid, even. The closing track in particular though really caught me smiling. "Fellowship" is so joyous and sounds like a man who really feels he has finally found out some stuff and has finally found some solid ground on which to stand in this wild and woolly world.
"Our fascination with Prosecco
The silly face you make when I say, "Hello"
I never understood deep, deep breaths
'Til you came around and you just changed the way I laughed
This is the blessing of my 30's
I'm spending less time worrying and more time recounting the love"
Elegantly alluring R&B. Quite pleasant honestly.
