Good album, filled with bangers.
Back when J Cole did album with features. Definitively a more pop style of production but still some great songs like Lost Ones and Dollar and a Dream.
Might not be Cole at his most lyrical but damn the production is dope, I think some people forget that J. Cole produced 12 out of 16 of the beats on this album. Not to say his bars aren't great either because theres still a lot of stand outs here!
by far the best hip hop debut album since Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor back in 2006.

Certainly enjoyable at certain points because he decides to use a different approach in terms of samples and interpolations but when it comes to flow, Cole feels a bit regular and the album doesn't completelely clicks because of it, not bad but not that big...
