(A really refreshing as hell blend of black and avant garde metal full of atmosphere, lo-fi bits and word tunings and a general sense of originality.)
This is a strange album. In all those cool and fun ways. The guitars are tuned in weird ways. It was made by a one-woman wrecking crew of wild creativity. It’s home recorded and Lo-fi and I beholden to any norms of black metal convention. There are sludgy bits that will crush you beneath its waves, there are almost traditional (but not quite) lonesome black metal wails and riffs. There are bits with weird bird or bat noises. There are death metal parts and weird and sometimes sloppy (in a great fucking way) avant garde bits. Noise metal dirges, oh my. Little spoken word parts. It’s just a thrilling album. It’s cool cuz it is so gnarly and nasty and yet creative and untamed.
I really respect this album and artist and this is easily one of my fave metal albums of the year. Check it out.
