Marking the historic 40th anniversary of the release of their breakthrough album "Leftoverture", the reconstituted Kansas got together to perform that album in its entirety Live in concert for enthusiastic Kansas fans all across the states. In addition to the songs from Leftoverture, the group sprinkled in songs from throughout their career which are also represented on this double disc 2017 release. The foundational Kansas members - Drummer Phil Ehart, Guitarist Richard Williams and Bassist Billy Greer are augmented by newer members David Manion on Keyboards, Violinst David Ragsdale, Guitarist Zak Rizvi and vocalist Ronnie Platt. While this version of the band rocks with progressive intensity throughout this album, it's hard not to sometimes think of former members Kerry Livgren, Robby Steinhardt and especially vocalist Steve Walsh.
Released on Inside Out Music Label (Cat#: IOMSECD 487, Inside Out Music – 88985461212) this is a terrific trip down memory lane, and demonstrates that the men of Kansas still have further territory to explore in the future. Authenticated on discogs.com
