The second full-length album by San Francisco based pianist and neo-cabaret singer/composer/film scorer/goth entrepreneur Jill Tracy and her supporting musicians is difficult to classify to a particular genre. I mean what do you call an ensemble that is comprised of a grand pianist, a double bass, a violin, drums, bassoon and yalli tambour? Tracy wears her influences all over her music - she was influenced by the scores of Alfred Hitchcock's film noirs, Rod Serling's TV show and other dark sources. The music sounds mysterious and unusual, but it is captivating because of it's uniqueness. Released in 1999 on 123 Records (Cat#: 123-009) this is one worth checking out.
