Woody Herman used multiple names for the bands/orchestras he led throughout his career. The name Woody Herman And His Big Band was used after 1976 and while his group was touring America and abroad. The recordings heard on this album were taken from a live performance at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall in March of 1986, Released on Concord Jazz Records (Cat#: CCD-4302) the 8 tracks here feature fine solos and grooves laid down by a tight ensemble. Authenticated on discogs.com
