The radio station I worked at had a shake up, producing a new music director/program director and-- ugh-- playlists. I was forced to play one of a couple of tracks off it most nights for a couple months. It ain't naturally my kinda music; but by the time it was off the playlists and I could throw it out, I didn't want to anymore. Try "Women Who Fly..."

Nona Hendryx began her career as a background singer, then as a member of Patti Labelle & The Bluebells, and finally branched off into a solo career. In addition to her vocal abilities, Hendryx is also a prolific songwriter. She has collaborated with the likes of Prince, Bill Laswell , Talking Heads and Laura Nyro. On this, her 6th solo album, Hendryx wrote all ten songs featured on the 1989 release by Private Music label (Cat#: 2055-2-P), and belts them with her usual unbridled restraint. The difference is her collaboration as producer with Tangerine Dream member Pete Bauman who adds an air of ambiance and lushness to all the tracks here, which is unlike all the other albums in her history.Authenticated on discogs.com
