Even though punk genuinely seems to make a return through trap with back-to-basics beats and rapping, and pessimistic, angst-driven lyrics and delivery, Young Thug's second studio album doesn't seem to be in that vein, and his idea of punk is basically soft grungy ballads. His attempts at rapping over these ballads don't really go anywhere, even though I admire his creativity (and persistence).
The opening track works better as a work of poetry to read rather than a track on an album. It's an interesting look into Thugger's brain and past nonetheless.
