Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.4/100, a mean average of 71.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.2.

Here we got a band the rocks and gives us a foretaste of what was to become known as hard rock before LZ, Heeo and Purple did it.
Tier List for my preferences of the tracks on this album:
Top: 1, 3
High: 2, 4, 6-9, 10
Neutral: 5
Underrated band, could have been one of the best of it's time.
Their first album comes as close as this band ever did to fulfill their considerable promise in the short time that they were together. “Open My Eyes” and “Lemming Song” succeed brilliantly; they’re raucous and fun pop songs that belie the sophistication of the songwriting. “Back of Your Mind” has much of the same energy. “If That's the Way You Feel” and “Hello It's Me” show the band’s deft touch with a ballad, though Todd Rundgren, as a solo artist, dusted off the latter song and polished it to perfection. Great musicianship and hooks abound, though overindulgence on songs like “Wildwood Blues” and “She's Goin' Down” lessen the impact. But that was as much a product of the era as anything else. Nazz is a gem, albeit with a slightly unfinished veneer.
