Soft Cell are legends, one of the very first progenitors of the fire’n’ice, synth-pop duos. No one wants to hear a flat, uninspired album from this lot and thankfully, this album is none of that.
Dreams of the futurepast, Andy Warhol, God,
longings for a neverland utopia abound all shot through with the cynical, seedy worldview of Almond/Ball.
The tunes are still there, but this time tinged with a mature, regretful perspective.
A must-listen, don’t let it pass you by.
