Probably the best guitar of 2022.
“Aboogi” is genuine if unambitious. The lyrics are heartfelt descriptions of the disenfranchisement of the Saharan peoples. This emotion combined with guitar creates the feeling of being told a story first hand. Unfortunately, the album says the same one over and over. Arrangements are indistinct and bleed from song to song. It’s sort of like looking at the desert, striking at first but duller the longer you look.
