Another stellar release from Pusha with shoutouts to Ye and Pharrell for executively handling the prod.
Great album by pusha T once again. IMO it's a little bit better than Daytona. Kanye's production was incredible and fit Push so well. Favourite track: Dreamin of the past, Rock n roll and I pray for you
Pusha T sounds almost as good as Daytona Pusha T on this project, but the production does not for the most part. It starts off well with the fantastic “Brambleton” but the strong start does not continue. While Daytona is heavy sample based like this album; the choice of samples on Daytona create a more cohesive, compact and fulfilled sound. The beats sound fairly thin and rely on one loop samples a lot throughout this album. However, it does works well on “Dreamin Of The Past” “Scrape It Off” and “Rock N Roll” due to fantastic samples and great contributions from features. In the end, the production and Pusha do both conclude in great form as the last 4 tracks are very good, but it is too inconsistent to be put up there with Pushas best work.
* Favorite tracks: Brambleton, LTSSTC, Dreaming Of The Past, Diet Coke, Scrape It Off The Top, Hear Me Clearly, I Pray For You
* Least favorite tracks: Call My Bluff
* The Kanye produced half is more vintage Push, while the Pharrell produced half takes on a much more commercial sound
* Push’s flows are consistent as ever, but the project isn’t as tight as Daytona and lacks the ambition of a project like Hell Hath No Fury
* Mixture of different sounds and styles, like a more refined version of what he was going for on My Name Is My Name
