80 songs sprawled across four CD’s that clocks in at a whopping nearly 5 hours of (mainly) early Pistols recordings. And who has the time or patience to listen to this entire beast (twice)? Actually I do and did
And there’s plenty to enjoy even if the sound quality mostly leaves a lot to be desired. I especially appreciated some of the in studio banter for example the Beatles “I hope we passed the audition” quip following “Liar” on CD 2 as well as raw early incarnations of classics such as “Problems” , “Submission” , “Anarchy” and “No Feelings” all recorded a full year before ‘Bollocks’ would surface and an ultra rare instrumental version of “God Save The Queen”
Love or hate this band their influence was undeniably ginormous and as such this collection is an important document in the history of modern music
