Compiled from recordings Hooker completed in Detroit between 1951 and 1959, this set features obscure tracks, which are a welcome change from the usual same versions of "Boogie Chillen" and "Boom Boom," which we get with most Hooker compilations. This 16 track set features primarily Hooker accompanying himself on rudimentary guitar and foot stomp. His sound is augmented on a couple songs sprinkled throughout. Released on Charly R & B label (Cat#: CD BM 38) in a disputed distribution date ranging from 1993 in the UK to 1995 in the US. It is Authenticated on discogs.com and allmusic.com
