Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.1/100, a mean average of 77.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.7.

Wow this album really blew me away. I saw few people on tiktok heavily praising it and decided to give it a listen. I never listened to Quadeca before, but i heard of him from his Youtube stuff, And even after first listen i could feel this could be a contender for AOTY spot. And here we are at my 5th listen from front to back and I give this album decent 9 out of 10, and it is my fav album of the year, I dont see anything toping it.
It amazes me how Quadeca went from a YouTube rapper making songs with Dax and Crypt, and writing diss tracks about KSI, to putting out one of the best albums I've heard all year. Don't judge a book by its cover, I guess.
I wasn't – despite the hype – all that impressed by Lasky's last album, consistent with my general dislike of whiney male vocals and white rap. It doesn't help that Lasky is a cringe youtuber angled for kids and whose catalogue up until this recent "serious" shift is agonisingly bad. Putting that aside, I Didn't Mean to Haunt You shows some promise. I still cannot tolerate Quadeca's rapping, but in the bits where he gets closer to spoken word or mild croning it works – as an example: "tell me a joke" and "don't mind me" are great. It's not outstanding or anything, but – for the first time – it's actually good.
Yeah this completely lived up to my extremely high expectations. This is absolutely beautiful, ethereal, harrowing, soul crushing. This is pretty much perfection. I can't wait for Fantano to give this a 7 so Quadeca will inspired to pump out something that's somehow even better than this next year.
