All Rivers/Weezer demos from the golden era(90s)so far are better than anything they have done since Pinkerton.
The lo-fi recordings can easily trump robert pollard's best songs and the acoustic tracks from Fullerton ave suite though on first few listens can be underwhelming due to their short runtime however upon repeated listens the songs raw vocals provides us with some insight into Rivers depressed state of mind during that period.He could have been a Bob pollard or Elliott Smith type singer/songwriter if he had released this stuff in the 90s.
Definitely the worst of the Alone albums as most of the material is extremely short segments or songs that have been available for years already. With that said, it is still nice to hear the early stages of certain songs and the potential of the handful of songs that are less than a minute long. The best part about this album is that it helps give us the rest of the songs that would have been on Songs From The Black Hole.
