Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.0/100, a mean average of 76.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.3.

Nothing mind-blowing, but there are some interesting tracks. Sounds a bit like mix of David Bowie, The Cure and synthpop/power pop.

It has aged better than most britpop.

The first big record (album) from Pulp. Songs like "Acrylic Afternoons", "Happy Endings", and of course "Do You Remember The First Time" are such classy tunes. Sounds fresh and great even now, 25 years later.

The album that started Pulp's success. It's a very good record with, lip gloss, and, babies, good, but best is, do you remember the first time, Pulp's first great song. The rest is fine too. Good album.

This was the band's finest moment IMO. Standout tracks are the fantastic Babies and Do You Remember The First Time?

Not as good as Different Class, and true, there are some fillers here that allow quality control to slide.

Joyriders and Do You Remember The First Time? are great tracks. The below comment has some truth in it. There is not a moment in the album where all the pieces come together to deliver something spectacular.

Gwaa. I hate rating this album with only 3 stars. It has the potential to be a really good record, but for some reason, I find that the songs don't really 'hit' you. The lyrics, the melodies, the choruses, the drums, are all great. But I find I'm just not caring.
