Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 8% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.1/100, a mean average of 74.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.2.

I think this can hang with albums from their peak, and Show Me How is one of my favourite Foo Fighters songs now

A return to form. Only bettered by colour and the shape, foo fighters and wasting light

Grief laden and, at times utterly despairing. A musician trying to get through a crisis in the only way he knows how. The rawness of the lyrics and the unapologetic nature of the songs makes this one of the band's finest records. Taylor would have loved it. An album that would not have been made if not for tragedy from a band that would not exist if not for tragedy.

A very solid album. Grohl pulls at the heartstrings on this one, delivering 48 minutes and 14 seconds of hard hitting, assured songwriting. I’ll need to give it another listen, but I’m content to declare it as one of their best in years.

Just a near perfection album.
With so much deepness and sadness with so much sorrow, but at the same time so damn beautiful.
Without no trace of doubt, the second best Foo Fighters album of all time. Really deserves to be on the top of 2023 list so far! Period.

An emotional album. Definitely Grohl’s most ambitious album lyrically. Unfortunately, musically it is very bland and uninteresting. Not much to grab on to melodically. Still has some powerful moments attached to grief and loss.
