Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 75.5/100, a mean average of 73.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.5/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 20.2.

As a young teenager i liked them, as an older teenager i tried to keep liking them, then growing older i realised that their music is rubbish. They are the great pretenders (Dave Grohl) of rock music. And a great denier of Aids.

RIP Taylor Hawkins. So sad.
The loss for his family matters even more, but I wonder how the Foos can keep going.

I saw them live with a friend who is a much bigger fan than me. Had a great time, they know how to put on a show! Their albums are decent, but they're pretty samey both between songs and between albums. Consistency is both a blessing and a curse in this case, as there's generally not enough of a shift in sound between their albums to keep me interested. Still, respect for doing what they do and having a fairly unique and recognisable sound within mainstream rock.

Love this band but i find their greatest hits album most appealing.
A very hit and miss band with no 'solid' albums but a few pretty good ones (The Colour and the Shape, Echoes, Wasting Light).
The Colour and the Shape acted as a template for their entire career: rock albums with anthemic singles and decent filler. Though it's disappointing that they haven't really evolved their sound, they are very good at what they do

One of the greatest bands I've ever seen. Their live performance is really awesome!!

Great rock n roll band

I'm not a huge fan of their music, but I have a lot of respect for them and Dave Grohl.
