Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. The usual Frankie quality.
Where are you, is another superb Frank Sinatra album. Like, in the wee small hours, it's a late night record of torch ballads and broken hearts. The beautiful title track kicks things off, and it's followed by, the night we called it a day, a stunning song. Frank is on top form here, from the melancholy, autumn leaves, to the yearning, maybe you'll be there, and the Sinatra co-write, I'm a fool to want you. The atmosphere is haunting on tracks such as, I cover the waterfront, and, Laura. The fifties was a great time artisticly for Sinatra, and this record is one of the reasons why.
Fine ballad album though perhaps a touch too morose and self pitying to be up there with the Nelson Riddle records which are in a similiar vein.
