People are fond of saying that albums like this "slipped under the radar," but how did they do that? Did they fly in at low altitude, or while the radar operator was taking a bathroom break? Maybe they had someone sabotage the radar station in a perfectly time-coordinated attack. Or could they have been using stealth technology, "borrowed" from the US Air Force? The band is from Northern Ireland, but you never know with the US Air Force — they're just like that. Regardless, though this album isn't quite "great," it has a very high Quality::Obscurity ratio, probably one of the highest I've ever encountered. Clearly influenced by groups like the Sundays, Belly, the Cranberries (though I never liked the Cranberries much), and maybe even the Throwing Muses, they should have had a lot more success. But with all their label-related problems, touring nightmares, and production issues, I guess there just wasn't room for one more, as they say. They were the odd band out. No more space in the elevator. Do radar stations even have elevators? Probably not.
