Carl is one of the greatest track stars of all time. Not the greatest singer though. The producer, horn players, backup singers, etc. are all working hard to cover for him. And it works on a few tracks, if you just don't pay attention too much. But there are some spots where you can't ignore the weak/bad singing. And ultimately, the songs themselves are mediocre at best. A great singer could elevate these to be halfway decent, but as it is, this just isn't very good. I guess he had fun though, so that's something.
