Daniel Melingo, or just Melingo, as he is frequently called, has revitalized Tango in a very important way. The main reason why I like this record is for its use of traditional instrumentation on its songs and for the very appropriate "Tango Voice" and accent that Melingo has. The lyrics use frequently words in "Lunfardo", which is a dialect originated in the River Plate, and which is used in most tangos, but Melingo adds many new words that are contemporary and thus were never used in "classic tangos". Melingo's lyrics have contemporary topics and reflect our days, and this mix of traditional interpretation plus contemporary topics is what makes this album so trascendental, because it introduces the genre to a whole new generation of people that may have considered Tango a nostalgia act, but now they can find it relevant.
