Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.3/100, a mean average of 75.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.1.

Pure and utter brilliance. Somehow its incomplete natures adds to its allure and wonder
The Sky Is A Landfill may be the best song he ever wrote, or at least my personal favorite. Based on the first ten songs it sounds like Jeff was about to eclipse Grace and pass it by; carrying on with his wondrous musical evolution. The fact that these songs were considered unfinished or inferior recordings to Jeff astounds me. He was definitely a perfectionist. The second disc veers into more experimental demo-tape territory, but even then it's better than a lot of music out today. The final track ends with one of his live performances of "Satisfied Mind"; another cover that he completely makes his own and is even better than the famous Hallelujah cover, in my mind.
First disc is strong and shows a general direction in which Buckley's sound could have progressed post-Grace. However, the 2nd disc is quite underdeveloped.
This works great as a double album.
They should've made this album limited to Disk 1 only.
And made Disk 2 a separate B-sides album.
Testament of an absolute genius of Nineties. I wonder what he could create if still alive...
Despite its incompletion, 'Sketches of My Sweetheart the Drunk' is a very worthy follow-up to 'Grace'. It's bold, daring, and yet somehow, still maintains that wonderful, beautiful quality that was always a constant throughout his music. Tim, his father, would've been very proud.
He didn't want to release it but it's all we got following his death. It stands up despite this. I haven't listened to this album in 13 years ..... It just makes me sad still !
It's not "Grace", but there's a lot of really cool stuff going on on this album.
The first disc is better than Grace!
