As a drummer of over 15 years at the point of this comment, it is now a goal of mine to play with at least a quarter of the enthusiasm Art expresses across Mosaic.
This is a little bit of an underrated masterpiece huh?

This is a perfect example of how Blakey can spot a good composition, make it swing, and get his soloists to attack it with both cohesiveness and verve. While most Blakey albums are memorable for Blakey himself, and he's in fine form here, it's really the brass in the front like that steals the show. Curtis Fuller lays down some very tasty licks on the 'bone and Freddie Hubbard rips... with soul... like only Freddie Hubbard can. A great album.
